Playing a round at Chambers Bay felt like stepping onto sacred ground. It was my first time ever playing a course that PGA pros have competed on, and knowing it hosted the 2015 U.S. Open added a layer of pressure to every swing. I could feel a mix of excitement and nerves that made each shot feel a little more significant. It was also my first experience playing with a caddy, which brought a new perspective to the game. Having someone guide me through the course, read greens, and offer their expertise made me appreciate just how strategic golf can be at that level.

What made the round truly meaningful, though, was sharing it with my oldest brother. As a former goalie, he played a huge role in inspiring me to step into that position myself, so being out there together carried a lot of sentiment that went beyond the round itself. The course was gorgeous from start to finish - the front nine was played in a layer of thick fog, the rain was pouring for about a third of the round, but it somehow added to the atmosphere rather than taking away from it. And managing to card birdies on holes 13 and 15 made the experience even sweeter; small victories that felt amplified given the setting and the company. It was one of the most humbling yet thrilling experiences I've ever had, a reminder of how special the game can be when challenge, history, and meaningful company all come together.
