VG Family Skate at Honda Center

A Ducks win, a hat trick, and a whole lot of friends on the ice.
Sunday night was a good one.
The Ducks handled business with a 6-3 win over Ottawa, and Cutter Gauthier made sure everyone got their money's worth with a hat trick. Not a bad way to kick things off.
Once the game wrapped up, it was our turn to hit the ice.
Over 100 friends, family members, and VG supporters got to skate on the same ice the Ducks had just won on. Pretty cool experience, especially for the kids who had just spent the last few hours watching their favorite players out there. Some of us looked like we knew what we were doing. Others, not so much, but that's okay. Honda Center ice isn't a bad place to learn to skate. There were plenty of laughs, a few spills, and a lot of smiles. But that's half the fun.
Events like these are always special. It's a chance to catch up with old friends, make some new ones, and let the kids skate like maniacs. It's also pretty cool seeing how many friendships have come from this little hockey brand we started back in 2011. Some of these people have been with us since the beginning, while others are just getting to know us. All are welcome.
At the end of the day, this is what we love about hockey. It's always been about more than what happens during the game. It's the people you meet, the friendships you build, the families that grow up around the rink, and the memories you make along the way. Getting to share a night like this with so many good people is a reminder of why we love doing what we do.
Big thanks to the Anaheim Ducks for helping us put this together and to everyone who came out and spent their Sunday night with us.
And make sure you always remember, "safety knees."
